All my paintings have stories but this one is very specific.
My mother passed away over twenty years ago. On my 21st birthday she had given me a pearl necklace. The clasp had broken so I took them to a jeweler to be restrung. They lost the pearls.
We all have objects that connect us to our past or people in our past. I may get another set of pearls or another piece of jewelry but the tether is unbroken.
